The three apps
One for tasks, one for notes, one for habits. None of them talks to the others, and you don’t open any of them every day.
Stoic System · Notion or Excel

Your whole life on one dashboard: your morning and evening journal, your habits with their streaks, your goals with their progress and the Sunday council. For Notion or for Excel and Google Sheets, with the Stoic method that makes it work.
One for tasks, one for notes, one for habits. None of them talks to the others, and you don’t open any of them every day.
You started a journal full of enthusiasm. It lasted nineteen days. It’s still in the drawer, half the pages blank.
The first thing you see every morning is other people’s messages. By nine, the day has been decided, and not by you.
You go to bed tired and couldn’t say what you did for the things that really matter to you. Tomorrow, the same.
You wrote down your goals for the year. By February you couldn’t remember where you’d put them.
Monday comes and you start the way you always do: putting out fires, answering whatever comes in, letting the week decide.
You don’t lack discipline. You lack a place to command from.
One of the most widely read books of philosophy in history was written, in large part, in army camps. Marcus Aurelius, emperor of Rome, spent his last years on the Danube frontier, at war. At night he wrote for himself, and he noted where: “among the Quadi,” “at Carnuntum.” He wasn’t writing to publish. He was writing to put himself in order: what was up to him, how he would treat the difficult people of the next day, where he had fallen short.
Seneca ended every day with an examination: once the lamp was out, he went over his actions and his words, hiding nothing from himself. And he warned his friend Lucilius against scattering himself:
Epictetus taught his students the first rule of the whole system: “Some things are up to us, and some are not” (Enchiridion, 1).
A fixed place, reviewed at fixed times, to separate what is up to you and move forward on that. That’s a headquarters.
“He who is everywhere is nowhere.”
Seneca, Letters to Lucilius, 2, 2
A complete system for putting your life in order from a single dashboard, with five rooms and three fixed hours.
Morning, five minutes. Evening, five minutes. Sunday, thirty.
Use it however you prefer: in Notion, imported into your account with a step-by-step guide, or in Excel or Google Sheets, with a spreadsheet that calculates your streaks, your percentages and your progress on each goal.

Headquarters isn’t a lone PDF: it’s a 9-piece kit, ready to download.

A ZIP ready to import: home page, five databases with examples, the manual on one page, and the journal and Sunday templates.
8 pages with simulated screenshots: import, property types, formulas, linking orders to goals, views and the daily page that creates itself.
Excel and Google Sheets
A dashboard that updates itself, the journal, habits with streaks, goals with progress and pace status, orders, a weekly review and charts. With a filled-in example file.
The complete method, with filled-in examples of a morning, an evening, three goals and a Sunday.
2 pages
Your headquarters up and running this week.
5 pages
For pencil and paper.

Marcus Aurelius had an empire at war, and he still went back to his notebook every night to put his life in order. You have a job, a family, a body, money and a character to govern.
One fixed place. Three fixed hours. First, what is up to you. A general doesn’t improvise.
